Eastern High Flourish in Life

Homework is work that is set and carried out outside the timetabled curriculum.  It enhances student learning, improves achievement and develops students' study skills.   It also develops good learning habits in young people, which will be transferable into further learning and work experiences throughout life.   As such homework is an integral part of the curriculum.

Not all homework is done at home; in fact, for some students who find it hard to work at home, or for some tasks, which may require resources (books, software, equipment) more readily available in the school, it may be necessary or desirable to carry out the task at the school.

At Eastern High, we believe homework is most effective when it is not just a ‘time filler’, but is integrated meaningfully into the curriculum or is set to enhance learning opportunities for the student in a relevant and meaningful way.
