Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope that you and your families are enjoying a restful and enjoyable summer break.

As we look forward to welcoming our pupils back for the new academic year, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you once again for your continued support. Working together, we can ensure that every pupil has the very best opportunity to thrive, achieve and feel a strong sense of belonging within our school community.

A reminder of our start-of-term arrangements:

• Tuesday 1st September and Wednesday 2nd September are INSET Days and the school will be closed to pupils.
• School reopens on Thursday 3rd September with a phased return:
  • Year 7 pupils should arrive at 8.30am and go directly to their Learning Family. Staff will be available to support and direct them.
  • Years 8-11 pupils should arrive for the start of Lesson 2 at 9.50am and go directly to their Learning Family.

As we prepare for the start of the new term, I would also like to remind families of the importance of excellent attendance. Every school day counts, and strong attendance is one of the most significant factors in supporting pupils to achieve their full potential academically, socially and emotionally. We ask parents and carers to ensure that pupils attend school every day unless they are genuinely too unwell to do so. Whilst the first week back is shorter due to our INSET days, it is important that pupils attend from the first day of term. Starting the year positively helps pupils re-establish routines, reconnect with friends and staff, and ensures they are fully prepared for their learning.

Please also take this opportunity to ensure that your child is equipped with the correct school uniform and equipment for September. High standards of uniform help foster a sense of pride, belonging and readiness for learning, and we appreciate your support in maintaining these expectations.

We are excited to welcome both our new Year 7 pupils and our returning pupils as we begin another year together. We have much to look forward to and are confident that, through our shared commitment and partnership, our pupils will continue to flourish both academically and personally.

In the meantime, I hope everyone enjoys the remaining days of the summer holiday, and I look forward to seeing you all in September, refreshed and ready for another exciting year.
